Oval15 is excited to announce the signing of Joshua Vermeulen to Biella Rugby Club in Italy!
Joshua Vermeulen possesses a diverse skill set, which includes excellent ball handling, tactical kicking, and the ability to read the game. His combination of speed and agility enables him to keep up and execute overlapping runs effectively, and his stamina ensures he maintains a high level of performance throughout a match. He is also a solid defender and good under the high ball.
Vermeulen played three years of 1st XV rugby for Paul Roos Gymnasium, the school that has produced the greatest number of Springboks, earning 50 caps. He played for Western Province at the U18 Craven Week after which he was selected for the SA Schools team.
Vermeulen joined the Western Province Rugby Academy and represented WP at U19 and U21 levels where he played a major role in getting the team to semi-finals and finals. He has since played senior provincial rugby for the Valke (Falcons) and SWD Eagles, and had a stint with Russian club Slava.
