Oval15 is delighted to announce the placement of Karst Smits at Wicklow RFC!
Karst joins the Irish club ahead of the 2025/26 season, and has already arrived in Ireland.
The powerful back rower, who can also play as Lock, spent his years at South African rugby powerhouse Boland Landbou. Smits starred for the top South African school side, playing for their 1st XV against top schools across the country.
Karst Smits exhibits exceptional defensive skills, with the majority of his tackles being dominant. He demonstrates a strong offload game and brings physicality when carrying the ball.
A dedicated worker both on and off the pitch, Smits consistently strives to improve and grow as a player. As a well-rounded team player, he quickly builds chemistry and
seamlessly integrates into the team structure.
