Oval15 is delighted to announce the signing of Masikane Mazwi to Ogniwo Sopot in Poland.
Masikane Mazwi is a powerful scrummager and accurate lineout thrower. He is also a strong ball-carrier and has the ability to win turnovers at the breakdown.
Mazwi was part of the Eastern Province team that won the SA Rugby U19 Championship in 2015, and also helped Nelson Mandela University (Madibza) lift the Varsity Shield twice.
Mazwi played for Durban club College Rovers for the two years, during which time they were crowned league and Murray Cup champions.
In 2023, the 27-year-old fulfilled a childhood dream by playing for the Sharks in the Currie Cup Premier Division, before signing for Russian club Metallurg in 2024 through Oval15.
After returning to South Africa, Mazwi rejoined Eastern Province for the 2025 season, playing in the SA Cup & Currie Cup 1st Division.
Mazwi heads off to Europe, and we’re delighted to have assisted him for the 3rd time with an opportunity.
