Devanito Vergotine is a quick, skilful back with a strong kicking game, good footwork and an ability to read the game effectively. A system-based player, he is also intelligent around the breakdown and has continually improved his defensive game as a fullback.
Vergotine played three years of 1st XV rugby for Hoërskool Noord-Kaap before representing CUT Young Guns and progressing to Varsity Cup rugby. He has also played for the Cheetahs amateur and U21 teams and trained with the senior Cheetahs under coach Hawies Fourie in 2023.
His representative experience includes Rhino Week and SA Rhino Week, while he also competed in USSA 7s and 15s for three years.
