Patrick Maka is a powerful, athletic back-rower/lock who brings physicality, work rate and leadership to every team he represents. A strong ball-carrier, he consistently wins the gain line, carries effectively through contact and creates momentum for his side. His athleticism also makes him a valuable lineout option, combining speed, timing and aerial ability at set-piece.

Defensively, Maka is a dominant presence who prides himself on his tackling, physicality and relentless effort around the field. A strong communicator with a team-first mentality, he leads through both his actions and attitude, while his game awareness allows him to make smart decisions under pressure. Maka has been involved in the ACT Brumbies and Western Force systems, and earned selection for Australian U18 and U20 representative squads.
