His key strengths include speed, acceleration, agility and footwork, allowing him to beat defenders one-on-one, attack space and create opportunities for teammates. A strong ball-carrier, he consistently looks to make line breaks while maintaining a high work rate on both attack and defence.

Sumara is a reliable defender with good decision-making under pressure and the fitness to perform at a high intensity throughout the full 80 minutes. He is committed to continuously improving his rugby IQ through coaching, video analysis and skill development, while also focusing on strength and conditioning, speed and technical improvement.

Having competed at university level, Sumara has consistently represented his club and university with distinction. Coachable, disciplined and team-oriented, he is focused on progressing to professional rugby through strong performances and continued development.
