Reuben Calitz takes pride in his scrummaging, enjoys the physical aspects of the game, including tackling and ball-carrying, and dedicates significant time to gym work to maintain his physical condition.

Calitz represented Zululand at U16 level in 2024, progressing to the KZN tournament before competing at Frankfort Week. In 2025, he was again selected for the Zululand U18 team and reached the final KZN trials. Although he was not selected for the provincial squad, he competed at Reitz Week and performed strongly.

In 2026, Calitz returned to the Zululand U18 team and earned selection for the Sharks U18 XV after the final KZN trials. At Reitz Week, he helped his team produce strong performances and was named Prop of the Week. He was also selected for the Reitz team which will tour Italy in December.

Calitz is eager to join a club or team where he can continue to develop his game and raise his standard of play.
