Kimura Takahiro is an experienced Japanese scrumhalf who has played Super Rugby for the Sunwolves and in Japan Rugby League One for Suntory Sungoliath, Coca-Cola Red Sparks and Toyota Industries Shuttles. He has also gained New Zealand development rugby experience with Waikato and the Chiefs.

A game manager at scrumhalf, Kimura’s strengths include his kicking game, tempo control, defensive organisation and on-field leadership. He captained Japan at U18 level and also represented Japan U20. In 2026, he played for the Asia Pacific Lions against the Northampton Saints.

Away from playing, Kimura is a university graduate and qualified teacher who has worked with more than 100 teams as a skills coach.

He is available immediately and open to opportunities with high-level clubs in Europe or elsewhere.
