Oval15 is delighted to announce the signing of Gregor Smith to Bahrain RFC.
Gregor joins the club ahead of the 2025/26 season, and has already hit the ground running.
Smith is a versatile fullback capable of playing across the backline. His strengths include exceptional kicking in open play and for goal, effective counter-attacking, precise distribution and confidence in taking high balls.
In 2023, Gregor signed a semi-professional contract with Stirling County RFC in Scotland, competing in the Super 6 competition. During the 2024-25 season, he served as vice-captain for Howe of Fife RFC, contributing to their National League 3 victory. In the 2021-22 season, he was voted both Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year. He also played two matches for the Co-Optimists invitational side in 2025.
Smith worked full-time as a PE teacher in Scotland while balancing responsibilities on his family’s dairy farm and his rugby career. He holds a PGDE in Physical Education and a First-Class Honours degree in Strength and Conditioning, leading the strength and conditioning programme for the senior men’s team at Howe of Fife RFC.
